Our Story

Pine Canyon Growers was created by a group of five high energy, quality growers with a passion for growing Apples, Pears and Cherries. As the business became more and more difficult they decided the best path to staying viable was to purchase their own packing house. After leasing the current packing house for several years with the Western Traders export sales company, the opportunity arose to purchase the facility and they jumped on it, thus creating Pine Canyon Growers LLC.

After a few years Pine Canyon Growers decided they needed some domestic help and forged a great relationship with CMI. CMI is now the sole domestic marketing arm for Pine Canyon while Western Traders still exists to maintain the Big Horn and Bison labels in export markets around the world.

After a fire in 2018 that destroyed the offices, packed fruit storage, and shipping, Pine Canyon Growers quickly began to rebuild with a vision of automation for packing as the main focus. Pine Canyon Growers has since then added on and upgraded in many aspects to reach its full potential as a packing house.

Our Growth

Brand new shipping dock completely enclosed and refrigerated. Along with a WSDA inspection office within the shipping dock.

Unitec 6 lane sizer.

New covered packaging supply storage area and a mezzanine for assembly of boxes off the floor of production.

Fully Automatic Haley Manufacturing pouch/poly baggers.

Added a box carousel for distribution from the mezzanine to the line via automation.

New push back racking for packed fruit storage. Also rolled out Red Line Inventory management system to ensure first in, first out and tracking of all pack locations.
